Overview

This blog is a static, privately run website. It does not set cookies, does not run tracking scripts in your browser, does not embed third-party content, and has no comment or registration features. If you use the theme toggle, your preference is stored locally in your browser (localStorage) and is never transmitted. Personal data is only processed to the extent described below.

Hosting

This website is hosted by Netlify (Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA) and delivered through Netlify's content delivery network, a network of globally distributed servers. When you visit the website, Netlify processes technically necessary data such as your IP address, the date and time of your visit, the page you requested, and the browser you use (server logs). Netlify stores these server logs for a limited period of up to 30 days and then deletes them. This processing is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is providing this website securely and reliably.

Netlify also processes data in the United States. Netlify is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and Netlify's data processing agreement additionally includes the EU standard contractual clauses as a fallback safeguard. For more details, see the Netlify privacy policy.

Security

I take appropriate technical measures to protect the data this website processes. In particular, all connections to this website are encrypted using TLS/SSL (HTTPS), which protects the data transmitted between your browser and the server from unauthorized access.

Analytics

This website uses Netlify Analytics. The analysis runs on the server, based on the server logs that already exist. It does not set cookies and does not run scripts in your browser. The data is evaluated in aggregate and does not allow me to identify individual visitors. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is understanding the reach of this website. Netlify retains this aggregated data only for a limited period before it is deleted.

Contact

If you write me an email, you voluntarily share personal data with me (such as your email address, your name, and the content of your message). I use this data only to answer your message. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is handling and answering your inquiry. I delete emails once keeping them is no longer necessary.

Your Rights

You have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, at any time to the processing of personal data concerning you which is based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR).

Under the GDPR you also have the right to access the data processed about you (Art. 15), the right to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), and data portability (Art. 20). In addition, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77).
